I decided after finding a quote that I found hilarious that belonged to the book “American Gods”, by Neil Gaiman to actually buy the book that it came from. I have heard over the course of many years that Neil Gaiman is a great author and many people enjoy his written works. I just never thought his writing was for me, but yet I respected him as an author in the book geek community. I did a thing and I ordered American Gods and while I was looking up books written by him I also found a diamond among the other jewels and saw Norse Mythology written by Gaiman as well. I love Norse mythology so I also picked up this book as well. Then I decided to finish my “A Court of Thorns and Roses” by Sarah J. Maas and bought books two and three. The one that was recently released is still in hardcover and I have a thing about my books matching. It still drives me nuts that my Twilight books 1 through 3 are paperback and the last one is in hard cover. Also, don’t get me started that my Harry Potter books one through four are paperback and the rest are in hardcover. That one drives me more crazy.
Anyway, I don’t know if I even will get that fourth court of roses book, but I don’t intend on starting to read that series until I completely finish the Throne of Glass series. The last installment, which has a title now, “The Kingdom of Ash”, will be published at the end of October. I have started collecting the paperback versions of ToG series even though I started reading them on my Kindle. I have it pre-ordered on my Kindle so that I can start reading it the minute it’s released and I absolutely cannot wait. I think I will wait a long while and get it in paperback so it can match it’s sisters…because I am weird. The only hardcover of ToG is the Tower of Dawn and I don’t mind that one being in hardcover because it really isn’t part of the series, but then again it is because it’s only telling a story that has events that are happening at the SAME TIME as Empire of Storms. I like to think of it as a side thing just like the prequel book with the side stories of when Celeana is 16 and still an assassin. And yet…that one I have on my shelf with the other as a paperback…
It all works out…
With more time on my hands this summer now that I am off from college and on vacation I am determined to get more books read. I should make a summer reading goal. I want to read and finish anywhere from six to ten novels. Is that too much? No, but it can be done. It’s just a matter of organizing my time and testing this new medications limits and what it can really do for my brain. I also am going to get into new better habits and re-arrange my life for the better so I can get stuff done. I also hope to start book reviews as well, but I probably will only have time in the summers to do these. I am very hopeful though. This is going to work and I can’t wait for my book delivery!

The Tower of Dawn, by Sarah J. Maas just came out last night! As I looked through it I thought it was going to be a novella, but it’s around 600 pages and around 61 chapters long! This is a novel and probably really should be considered the fifth book in the series. However, it is about Chaol and the events take place during the timeline in the last book side by side, but now Chaol is the protagonist and I am a bit excited about this. I’m not a Chaol fan, I like the character so it shouldn’t be difficult to read through this book and it should be able to hold me over until the final volume is released in May.
Squee! New book!
That is all…

So most stuff of Lent that I wanted to abstain from did not work out as planned, but the one thing that has stuck is that I have not touched a video game. It has been eight days and the first week was not so bad because I was busy, but the weekend was slightly unnerving only because I had more time on my hands. I do not want to even think about this upcoming weekend. I will bide my time with more reading and maybe do some spring cleaning. We all need a little spring cleaning once in awhile right?
I am on book four of the Throne of Glass series, by Sarah J. Maas. Queen of Shadows is a little more action packed and thank goddess it is because it has many more pages than the previous installment. I think I may get through this book in half the time it took me to get through Heir of Fire. I think each book gets better plot wise and things are still drawn out, but not as bad since the first book. I have other books that I read and I wish I could just finish them all in a month…if I were a faster reader. I can read fast, but I will not comprehend what I just read. When I read fast I can tell you what each word means, remember what I have read, and stuff, but to string them together to form a plot I can not do. I do not read super slow either, nor do I read slow and I would like to think I read at a normal pace if not a bit faster. It took me four months round about to read Heir of Fire. This was not due to my reading speed, but it was a combination of life getting busy or I just got bored with some parts and took a break. The other theory is as I have stated before that I have many books that I read at a time. You can see this in my “Bookshelf Life” tab.
