Liquid Diet

So today I start a liquid diet on my own. I am using Boost (Glucose edition) because it is packed with vitamins and stuff. My big Italian dinner on Saturday went great, but there was so much left over guess what I was eating for the last couple of days? I think too much tomato sauce is not good for me because I started to get a bad upset stomach last night. I had to freeze the rest of the meat and sauce last night too so that it would not go bad. Also, I would like some more, but maybe on another night for another day. Last Friday and Saturday I cooked sauce from scratch and also made meatballs from scratch. I bought sweet Italian sausage to put in the sauce to cook all day so the sauce would get the flavor.

I want to lose more weight before I have to go back to work in about two weeks. And I really want to try and get my blood sugar under control. Yeah, then summer vacation time is over. It was fun and a well deserved vacation, but soon it’ll be back to the grind. I’m going to try and get some cleaning done around the house if I can before that.

I went to the foot doctor yesterday. Good news! I do not have neuropathy, but the bad news is they have to do a biopsy on this little black spot on my right foot to check it out. I’m not worried if it’s malignant because I think it’s probably a benign growth. I have to have the biopsy scheduled and the doctor’s office will call me to schedule.

So hopefully soon I can update my Training tab here on this blog soon with better results. 🙂

Summer Gym Boot Camp Plans

My running partner and I have decided that things are really busy right now so we are trying to do our own thing. But, starting in June we are going to the gym in the mornings five days a week then do our running on Saturday mornings. If it is even too hot on Saturday early mornings then we will just head for the gym again. I’m putting myself on a better diet. I am also replacing my favorite staple of mashed potatoes with mashed cauliflower to cut down on the carbs. I got to get ready for that half marathon next year in September.

I would also like to apologize for not blogging more frequently like I have. I do not want my blog to be solely about my health journey, but other things like my other hobbies. I want to review films, books I have finished reading, and maybe game reviews. I could also talk about other things as well and maybe get more into cooking so I can update my recipe tab on here. I will be able to write more these coming summer months. 🙂

C25K II: Week 1 – Day 1

So then this happened…

My running partner and I started our second run through the app ( pun intended. XD ) on Saturday morning (4-15-2017) at the crack of dawn. This was done for a couple of reasons and one of those reasons was we could not get our schedules in sync. Our schedules were out of sync because I had to start going to the gym because of the hot weather and she was not a gym person. But, she surprised me and joined my gym so we can do our workouts in the gym. The second reason was I did not know how to restart the app and I kept forgetting where I was at. She showed me Saturday morning and now we can re-do it and keep training for the half marathon in September 2018.

Happy Easter!

Well, while being on break I was able to go to the gym twice. Then tomorrow morning I am going to do my run with my running partner. I got on the scale this morning and it was not pretty. Being on vacation sucks sometimes and you do not realize the damage you do until it is too late. I do not know if I mentioned this in a post before, but I did receive bad news last Saturday on the 8th. Before my test I learned a friend passed away and he had been battling brain cancer for a long time. I gathered my strength and took my test and the irony is that I did better in math than I did in reading. This is ironic because I am better in the language arts than I am in mathematics. I was just seven points away from passing my math. SEVEN!

If studying for a half an hour a week for two months gave me a fourteen point jump from my first scoring in November then I shall have to study harder. I am determined and I can do this to achieve my goals. This also applies to my weight loss journey. I hate calling it “my weight loss journey”. It sounds asinine and I have been depressed about it. I talked to my mother about getting weight loss surgery. I also talked to a friend who had got it done and she lost 87 pounds in six months. My mother thinks I can still do it on my own and I do not need the surgery. I have been trying to do it on my own ever since the sixth grade. I am so frustrated and I hate these diets or to be on a diet. You do not truly want something until you are told you can not have it. There are a lot of mixed feelings about getting weight loss surgery. I also do not want to have surgery only to just gain the weight back.

Sunday, I am cooking Easter dinner and having one of my uncles over for dinner along with mom and myself. Hopefully I will not over cook the turkey. I hope everyone else has a pleasant Easter and good blessings to all.

Raw Fitness Diet

So my brother did the 21 day Raw Fitness Challenge where you pay a crap load of money and if you lose the weight you get it back. He wanted me to try it, but I tried to tell him I do not have the money. Then he says you will get it back and next to what I say is I do not have the money to fork over now. The problem is…or at least there are two problems here why I can not do this challenge. One, too expensive and two what if I do not drop the weight in the allotted time? Because as a woman your weight can fluctuate and mine does and I do not know…

I am not afraid of trying knew things and I can probably debunk my second reason, but I can not take apart the first one. My brother says the money is mostly for the workouts. Well, I have my own routines and stuff and I think if I tried the workouts in their gyms I would die. If I only had 50-80 pounds to lose then sure I would go for it.

I also really feel all these fancy and/or fad diets, diet products, shakes, and pills are created by people so they can get rich off of people’s pain and suffering.

Rover Run 5K (Part Two)

I wanted to talk more about the 5k that I walked this past Saturday. I was really tired and a bit dehydrated, but I made it and next time I have to learn to drink water and walk. Even though the weather was perfect the sun got to me a little bit. It was fun seeing all those dogs there. When I walked a 5k before it took me anywhere from two to three hours to finish. I am happy that I got it down to one and half hours to finish. I still think I need a lot more training to do before I can actually start running a 5k. I need to keep the food demons away as well.

Since I used the race as a substitute for my C25K app Week 8 – Day 2 because there will be no post about that day because obviously the race counts. The last day of the training app is today. I will probably do that in the gym because now it is getting warmer outside. I will still run with my running partner early in the morning on Saturdays before sunrise so that we both do not bake in the sun. We will start the training over, but first we will take a week off to rest. Initially, in the app after you finish it says to take a week off before you to your 5k race. But, in this case it is going to be a week off and then start the training over to hone more running skills.

Getting there…

I slept for twelve hours straight yesterday. I must have been tired. I could go for some bad foods that I should not have right now, but I need to stay focused and not give in. I had some cookies yesterday though. I am not going to deny it. Today, I do my run after work and it is more likely that I will fast walk than run. I am going to do a weigh in in the middle of this month because you know…women’s issues from before.

I am a bit nervous about my 5k race this Saturday. I might do a recording of it or take pictures, but then again I heard that is frowned upon in the running community. Oh well, I can still blog about it later! 🙂

C25K: Week 7 – Day 3

Yesterday’s training was to run for 28 minutes… I wound up actually fast walking it because my feet and legs were hurting. Hey, in hindsight I have been doing really great up until the edge of week eight of training. This is why I am going to do the training twice over. I also want to take it easy because on Saturday there is a 5k race that I am running with a friend. Okay, in reality I will probably walk it, but jog some parts of it. I know week eight is brutal because it is the last week.

I have to lose weight. I have to lose weight. I have to lose weight.

I want to incorporate more salads into my diet and veggies and grilled fish for the protein part.

I want to fit into that dress that I saw in the shop and I have a year and half to do it.

Why is this so hard? It is not hard it should be easy, but yet this is proving to be difficult.

C25K: Week 7 – Day 1 and Dance Class

Yes, this was yesterday instead of Tuesday because now I am a day off because of that rainy Saturday. This training session was slightly better, but that is only because I think I paced myself in the beginning instead going for it at high octane speed. I am feeling under the weather for today for personal reasons…you know…female issues. I want to still go to my dance class tonight, but at the same time I just do not want to go. When I am in this mode I just want to drink a lot of water, eat chocolate, and sleep until the cows come home. For some reason though the craving of chocolate goes away the more protein I pack in. This may not work for everyone, but when you are training and on a diet then it is imperative that you do not ruin it with chocolate cravings. Another thing that works for the sweet tooth is fruit, but being diabetic I have to be careful with that so I try to balance fruit and protein. I wonder what other things could work? Because if I eat too much chicken or fish I think I’ll be sick. The only good thing about this time is most times I am not hungry and I actually get nauseous and sometimes dizziness accompanies it, but that is with the worse case scenarios that may occur. I usually give in to all the cravings and eat whatever. I do not want to do that though if I am trying to live healthier. I will figure this out eventually.

C25K: Week 6 – Day 3…CANCELLED

I did not run this past Saturday due to torrential rain in the desert. I know this sounds like an oxymoron, but it really happened and also I was not feeling well that day. I said I would make it up somehow to my running partner, but I never got the chance to make it up in fear it would screw up week seven and make me unable to bear the first day of that week. The first day in a new week of the training app is always the worst and I did not want to be too tired for it.

I am stepping up on my food intake and what kinds of foods I am letting my body ingest. I decided for portion control to invest in getting small cake plates. The trick is I can eat my meals as long as they fit on the plate and that does not mean make a small mountain either… -_-;

This week I am going to try harder and it is okay once in awhile to take a break from your training routine…just do not make a vacation out of it. ^_^;;

Rest is important for the body too and make sure to drink plenty of water, eat lots and lots of veggies (I can not stress this enough), eat some fruits, and get plenty of sleep. Oh and I need to cut out the caffeine, but I needed it today so I had mom put on a pot of coffee and I made myself a nice 15 oz. of glorious happy battery life giving juice. I am going to be a bit hyper today, but also my anxiety will run higher today and I hope I can manage it as well as the extra energy. Have a happy wonderful Tuesday! ^_^
